BE STRONG IN THE LORD

Ephesians 6:10-16

….be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.-Ephesians 6:10

þ Upon the death of Moses who leads the nation of Israel to the promise land, Joshua was the one who took his place. He advised the people of the nation to be strong and be of good courage [Joshua 1:6,9] which was also advised by Paul to the other pastors and believers in the church of Ephesus.

þ The question is, how are we going to be strong and have courage?

þ The answer is written in Ephesians 6:10-16 admonished by Apostle Paul to us. It does not speak of in the physical aspect but spiritually. To be strong in the Lord we must:

POINTERS:

1. Put on the whole armor of God. [Ephesians 6:11]

The word "armor” is synonymous to the words protection, defense, or shield. We would be able to put on the armor of God by:

a) Relying on the word of God. [John 1:1]

b) Prayer- breath of our soul.It should be frequently done for it helps us to be close to God.

We need to put on the armor of God because we wrestle against:

- principalities

-power

-rulers of the darkness of these world

-spiritual wickedness[Ephesians 6:11,12]

2. Take the whole armor of God. [Ephesians 6:13]

Show sincerely what God has given us- his armor. Don’t take off the armor of God to withstand in the evil day. Do what God wants us to do. Show to the unbelievers what we really are- being the children of God- doing what God is saying to us through our testimonies. We must be the light to those who are in darkness. Stand for the truth have the breastplate o righteousness [Ephesians 6:14].

3. Take the shield of faith. [Ephesians 6:16]

By having faith in God, we would be able to defeat or quench the evil device that the devil has.
