Morning Worship

 

THE IMPENDING

 JUDGMENT OF GOD

 

- 2 King 22:3-20


Introduction:

 

þ Before the reign of King Josiah in Israel many of his forefathers made so many things that do not please God especially worshipping other gods. But in the time of King Josiah were he lead the Israel he order that the book of the Law be open. After hearing the Word of God he immediately call his people to do what is right in the sight of the Lord.

 

þ God did not immediately give the judgment to the Israel. Lets study how King Josiah do the things that is right in the sight of the Lord.

 

Points :

 

1. He give Importance to the Word of             God ( verses 8-20 )

þ They ask forgiveness to God to their bad doings

þ They show that they are really sincere to God in asking forgiveness.

 

2. He acknowledge the Lord

             ( Verses 3, 18-19 )

 

þ Josiah show his humbleness to God and lead his people

þ They realize that they need God in their life

þ They acknowledge what God can do to the nation of Israel

 

3. He is faithful in Money matters ( verses 5-7 )

 

þ He is a Good steward of money and manage the work of God especially the House of the Lord

þ He properly give importance in the financial aspect and need of the house of the Lord

 

4. He have a Tender Heart ( verse 19 )

 

þ King Josiah has a character of humility toward God

þ He ask forgiveness to God coming from sincere heart

 

 CONCLUSION

 

þ God did not immediately give judgment to Israel during King Josiah reign but after his reign God strike his judgment for the sin of King Josiah forefathers.
