THE OUT WORKING OF SALVATION
" ¶
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence
only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with
fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 ¶ Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye
may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the
midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in
the world;
16 Holding
forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I
have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
- Philippians 2:12-16
Introduction:
þ Apostle
Paul was arrested and put to prison because of preaching Jesus Christ.
He encourage Christians outside to do the things which are necessary for
Christ’s sake even he is not with them.
þ In Col 3:23 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; : says that we are called to serve and glory God with our hearts.
POINTS :
1.WE ARE RECIEVERS OF GOD
1 Thess 2:13
"¶ For this cause
also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of
God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as
it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you
that believe. "
þ We are called sons of God in verse 15 to shine using the Word of God not the word of men.
þ The word of God will be much effective if we always put it in our hearts and apply in our lives.
2.WE ARE WORKERS OF GOD
2 Cor 6:1
" ¶ We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.”
þ Being
workers of God means also that we must bring soul to Christ. If you’re a
member of a local church you must work , do the soul winning.
1Co 3:5-6
" ¶ Who then is
Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the
Lord gave to every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave
the increase.”
þ We must not be tired of planting the seed of Christ or tired of visitation and follow ups.
3. WE ARE FIGHTER
2Tim 4:7
" I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: "
þ When we become sons of God we are also become fighter, fighter for Christ’s sake.
þ We must fighter of God until to the last breath we have.
4. WE ARE GOD’S PLEASER
Acts 5:29
" Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. "
Col 3:13-14
" Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a
quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.14 And
above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
"
1John 1:5-8
"¶ This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare
unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we
say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and
do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his
Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 ¶ If we say that we have no sin, we
deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. "
þ We must forgive one another and love another. We must have a forgiving heart
Phil 4:4
" Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
þ The joy that came from God cannot be steal nor snatch by any one.
CONCLUSION
þ The commandments of the Lord is not hard to obey as well His will
