A GODLY LIFE VERSUS A WORLDLY LIFE
- Titus 3: 1-11
INTRODUCTION :
Every person who believed and accepted Jesus Christ is bound to show and maintain good works [Titus 3:8]. Submission to authority is an example of a manifestation of good works- submission to God, in His words and the Pastor [Romans 13:1-3].
The authority of the word of God that had been given in the local church should be understood, learned and be made manifest in our lives by submitting unto it. Doing the exactly opposite puts us in the position of putting the laws [word of God] in our hands that is very unacceptable unto God. In reality, some Christians are deemed to be guilty in committing such actions, disobeying God and using His words for their own interests.
We are in the times that people puts a very large amount of importance to the so called "human rights.” Human rights that depicts only "I will do whatever I want in my life, anyway, I will be the one who will suffer the consequences of my actions.” It gives emphasis on a person yielding to the things that only serves his or her interest on the freedom that he or she wants in his or her life. It would be hard for a Christian if he or she’ll be having the same sentiments on freedom like the world do.
How to live a godly life in the midst of this wicked world?
--The answer is in Romans 1:2 "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God. ” The only problem would be our willingness to obey in God’s words.
Why do we need to live a godly life?
--Being a child of God, the character of our Father should be seen also in us. As the bearers of light we should not continue to live in darkness but a life that is well pleasing with God.
