THE PACKAGE DEAL OF GOD TO HIS PEOPLE

- Deuteronomy 6:1-25

INTRODUCTION:

þ It is addressed first to the nation of Israel being brought out of Egypt going to promised land in physical aspect

þ In spiritual aspect every dispensation of time is being addressed

þ The passage also give emphasis to the commandments of the Lord during their time, but in this present time it is merely the Bible is very important

þ Being picture as promised land in spiritual aspect in this present time, while the world as being picture of Egypt, Exodus a journey which picture our Christian walk in this present time, parents teaching their child about God pictures pastor teaching the congregation.

3 THINGS GOD PACKAGE

1. HAVE FEAR IN GOD AND HEAR  HIS COMMANDMENTS (v.2-3)

þ Fear of the Lord  is to depart from evil not by performance only

þ Fear of the Lord also giving respect and honour in our life

þ If we don’t have fear in God we grieve the Holy Spirit

HOW TO DO IT:

þ Love it, Purged it, Teach it (v.6-7)

þ Family altar and devotion  continue to do that

þ Bind them – be persistent (v.8)

þ Post bible verse in your house (v.9)

It is presentation of God in our  present time (John 1:1 "¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”)

 II. FORGET NOT THE WORD "The Warning” (v.12-16)

þ If we hear only and do not do His commandment of Lord we will forget it

þ Like Peter deny Jesus Christ

þ Lets humble our self in the sight of God

þ Live what God wants us in our lifestyle (Galatians 2:21 "I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain”)

III. ESTABLISH A GOOD AND RIGHT TESTIMONIES IN OUR LIFE

þ Establish a good testimonies in the sight of our God

þ Testimonies is different in reputation (Testimony – God judges, Reputation – people judges)

þ If people see your good  testimonies God will be glorified

þ Give please to God first

II Corinthians 6:14-18 "¹⁴ Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? ¹⁵ And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? ¹⁶ And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. ¹⁷ Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, ¹⁸ And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

CONCLUSION

þ Destruction will come if we will not obey the instruction of God in our life

þ Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 "¹³ Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. ¹⁴ For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

þ Do not ignore it and forget it
